80% of diabetes undetected in Tonga

The aim of this latest study was to ascertain the prevalence of diabetes in Tonga. This had been done in a similar survey in 1973 when the reported prevalence of diabetes was 7.5%. This latest result would indicate "a doubling of diabetes over the past 25 years."1
