The AMA has accused the Government of caving in to the food industry after failing to endorse traffic light labelling for foods.
Responding to the much anticipated Blewett report on food labelling, Federal Health Minister Nicola Roxon said there was insufficient evidence that the system influenced consumer consumption habits.
"We are not convinced that the current evidence establishes the effectiveness of either traffic light warning or the daily intake guides that are being used by some in industry now," she said.
