TGA warns against high dose simvastatin

New dose limits and contraindications for simvasatin have been introduced by the TGA to reduce the risk of myopathy and rhabdomyolysis.

In an advisory in the latest Medicines Safety Update, the regulatory agency says the previous maximum recommended dose of 80mg a day should only be used in exceptional circumstances.
